Recognized Emotions Can't Be Ignored 🫣

Hi reader,
I recently had a water issue at my place.
In a moment’s notice, I’m taking out all the stuff from under the kitchen sink
Bags I swore I would use, but didn’t
Old cleaning supplies
Smelly rags.
It was nothing I’m embarrassed by, but stuff that I overestimated in value
Once excited for and never ended up using
Things I could have let go of
Should have let go of
Months ago.
And now they’re all across my damn kitchen counter.
The problem isn’t that I misjudged what I stuffed in there.
The problem is that I couldn’t just leave them out.
They were there.
Out in the open.
How can I just stuff them back? 🫸🏾

We all have our hidden place
Where our untagged, unsorted, and perhaps unhinged things reside.
It is cool and dark and hidden
It is safe.
At least, it feels safe.
Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with that
Especially now that I’ve experienced enough to see the value in our own private cellar.
But what if that hidden place drives us into the shadows?
What if some of those things deemed ugly hold our elixir?
What if the key to our next step lurks underneath the undesirables?
Sometimes fate pushes us to bring our hidden place out into the open.
The best way we can honor it is to not just stuff everything right back in 😶🌫️
