A HYSA or a High Yield Savings Account allows you to get many times more interest on the money you’ve got over the average bank or credit union savings.  If you’re an independent creator, freelancer, or entrepreneur like me, then you know our money often comes in lump sums, like we could get a book deal advance and have to live on it for like a year! So it is super important we put our short-term money in an accessible place where it can compound. I’ve recently gotten more focused on my finances, learned about HYSAs, and got a couple accounts.
